What this blog uses

Accounts use a username, email address, and securely hashed password. Email verification and password recovery require email delivery. If you enable two-factor authentication, the site stores an encrypted authenticator secret and recovery information. Essential session and security cookies keep sign-in and forms working.

Submissions store your writing, chosen byline, revision history, contributor consent, and editorial decisions. Comments, contact messages, and reports are stored so the editor can review and respond. Your account email, private drafts, reports, and editorial notes are not published. Approved writing and comments show public attribution.

Security throttling uses short-lived counters derived from account identifiers or the connection address. This release adds no advertising trackers or third-party analytics. Links to other sites follow those sites’ privacy practices.

Corrections, account questions, and removal requests

Contact the editor for questions about your account, a published piece, correction, access to your information, or removal. Do not include passwords or recovery codes. Where needed, the editor will verify that a request comes from the account holder. Removal from public pages does not instantly remove historical backups or records needed to investigate abuse.
