About this space
A point of view. And room for yours.
Oddpinions is a personal blog with an open door to other perspectives. It begins with independent writing: observations, arguments, questions, and things worth thinking through.
The conversation doesn’t end at publish
Readers can submit an original piece or a substantial response. The editor reads each submission and decides what to publish. A response keeps its own byline; an editorial rebuttal is labeled separately. Later additions and corrections carry a date, so it is clear when a piece has developed.
You don’t need an account to read. To contribute, create an account and verify your email. You can use a public pseudonym.
Evidence first. No party gets a pass.
Start with current events, follow the records and include the facts that complicate an argument. We examine power and incentives without assuming coordination, forcing equal blame or telling readers what to think.
Plain language, open corrections, practical options and their tradeoffs. Read the full editorial standards.
